### Practical ways for counting groups of coins

Why play money math games? Is it really necessary?

No.

But it is much more fun!

Counting money is an important skill not only for school but also for life. The kids will have to know how to use money later in their life, and therefore they should know how to count their money correctly.

Kids can learn to count money in many different ways. However, if you want them to enjoy the learning process too, play money math games with them.

## Counting coins

You will need: cards, coins
Number of players: two or more
• Prepare a group of cards in advance that have different amounts of money written on them.
• Place the cards face down on the table and next to them place the coins.
• In turn, each player picks up a card from the bank, reads out load the amount of money that is written on it and represents it with coins.
• If the coins correspond to the number that is written on the card, he takes the coins and the card and the turn is passed on to the next player.
• If the coins do not correspond to the number that is written on the card, he puts the coins and the card back to their original place and the turn is passed on to the next player.
• The game ends when there are no cards left in the bank.
• The player who accumulates the most cards is the winner.
